It starts tonight and the aim is to help small businesses get themselves noticed.
Don’t accept the lack of advertising budget. Don’t give up when that first door is slammed in your face.
This is about being smart and figuring out how to get your business noticed in newspapers and on radio and television. To do it, you need to understand how the media works. And you need to understand your business, and your customer base.
What’s special? What’s unique? What are they interested in?
Sometimes the answer is so obvious you take it for granted. Or miss it altogether.
I’ll look at your business with my journalist’s hat on. I’ll help you establish the ‘stories’ you and your business can tell, the aspects of your life and career that the media is interested in. I’ll show you how to leverage that and turn it into free, positive coverage.
Of course, there are no guarantees. It’s a process, a skill you’ll develop and over time you’ll make progress and get results. But sometimes, in my experience, the kind of work we’ll do tonight in this Google+ hangout can have dramatic results.
