A purple cow at Braehead?

Massive well done to the team at Sinclair Barr Newsagents on Paisley Road for a great example of seizing an opportunity.
They’ve turned the last ever physical edition of The Dandy into an event and have used it to take their business to a whole new audience.
Their pop up shop at Braehead is a big talking point, it’s been busy every time I’ve walked past with bright, enthusiastic staff engaging customers. They’re doing much more than selling the last ever edition of The Dandy. They’re talking to people. They’re being social. It’s newsagents 2.0
And why shouldn’t they! They saw the chance to cause a stir. To take ownership of an event. To think outside the shop. People love it and the newspapers can’t resist it. Check the coverage in today’s Daily Record.
I salute them and I hope we’ll see more of this sort of thing. We’re in an age where everyone has to fight like a demon for their corner and where ‘doing your best’ will see you sunk within a year. You need to be brilliant. You need to be different. As Seth Godin says, you need a Purple Cow.
